Use it lawfully. It's provided as-is, pre-audit.
Pre-launch draft · last updated 2026-05-28
The short version
Lumes is provided as-is, while the external security audit is still pending. Use it lawfully and at your own risk. Because the service is end-to-end encrypted, we cannot see or moderate your content — your use is your responsibility.
Acceptance & eligibility
By installing or using Lumes you agree to these terms. You must be of legal age to form a binding agreement in your jurisdiction. If you do not agree, do not use the software.
Pre-release — no warranty
Lumes is a pre-audit build provided “AS IS,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, security, or non-infringement. The independent external security audit is pending (targeted Q3 2026). Do not rely on Lumes for life-safety-critical communications without performing your own risk assessment.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use Lumes to violate the law or to harm others. Because of end-to-end encryption we cannot and do not monitor, access, or moderate the content you send. Responsibility for your communications and conduct rests with you.
License & ownership
Lumes is proprietary software. We grant you a personal, non-transferable license to use the app; we do not grant any license to the source code, which is not public. The Lumes name, logo, and brand assets remain ours. Reverse engineering is permitted only to the extent applicable law expressly allows.
No accounts, no recovery
Keys are device-bound and there is no server-side account or key escrow. If you lose your device or PIN, your data cannot be recovered by us or anyone — this is by design.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lumes and its maintainers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the software, which is provided without warranty.
Enterprise deployments
Dedicated, on-premises, and sovereign deployments are governed by a separate written agreement that takes precedence over these terms for those deployments.
Changes & governing law
We may update these terms as the product evolves; continued use after an update means you accept it. The governing jurisdiction will be specified before public launch. Material changes will be noted in the changelog.
